Women’s Vitality Compass offers research-backed information and support for women who want to better understand their health, navigate midlife with more clarity, and build a more vital life. Through practical insights, thoughtful education, and physician-led perspective, Dr. Abigail Alt helps women cut through misinformation and find a steadier path forward in a healthcare landscape that too often overlooks prevention, context, and the full picture of women’s well-being.

You may be functioning well on paper, but not feeling well in your actual life.
Your body may be changing in ways that are confusing, frustrating, or hard to explain.
You may have tried to do the “right” things without getting the results you expected.
The advice you find often feels fragmented, superficial, or not designed for the reality of women’s lives.
Women’s Vitality Compass is led by Dr. Abigail Alt, a board-certified internal medicine physician with deep experience caring for adults through complex, often overlooked health concerns. Her approach brings medical rigor together with a broader understanding of what women are actually navigating in midlife.
Vitality is not just about the absence of disease or a single lab value. It includes physical health, emotional and mental well-being, relationships, and a sense of meaning and direction. This work looks at the full picture, not just isolated symptoms.
In a space crowded with misinformation, oversimplification, and one-size-fits-all wellness advice, Women’s Vitality Compass emphasizes thoughtful interpretation of evidence, practical application, and honest conversation about what is known, what is uncertain, and what may actually help.
Hi. I'm Abigail Alt, MD, MPH.
I created Women's Vitality Compass because I understand the feeling of being a successful, admired professional on the outside, yet restless and unfulfilled on the inside. For years, I was an overworked, overwhelmed high-achieving professional mom, feeling stuck and burnt out by the pressures of a demanding healthcare system. My health suffered as a result of the constant stress, leading to sleepless nights, weight gain, and even ER visits. It was a wake-up call that forced me to confront my own well-being and the way in which women's health is approached.
Women’s Vitality Compass was created to support women in their 40s and beyond with evidence-based guidance for navigating health, midlife change, and the broader question of how to live well. It is rooted in a wider vision of vitality, one that includes physical health, emotional well-being, clarity, purpose, and the ability to move forward with strength and intention.
